Dave Smith Dharma

Dave Smith is a dharma teacher, international speaker, and author who works to help individuals navigate the unique struggles of modern society. With a background as a punk rock musician and a recovering addict, Dave transitioned from anti-establishment roots to a 20-year career dedicated to resolving complex trauma and building meaningful engagement with life. His work serves as a direct challenge to the “shame-based reality” often found in the self-help industry. Trained in emotional intelligence, psychology, and Buddhist contemplative practices, Dave offers a transformative perspective on mindfulness that addresses the “addiction economy” and the pervasive “meaning crisis”. He provides consulting for mental health agencies and non-profits, speaks at national behavioral health conferences, and leads residential retreats and online courses.
