Review scripted editing portfolios
Compare the finished edit with its script and look for clear scene progression, deliberate pacing and consistent tone. Compare examples relevant to entertainment rather than judging a candidate from a single highlight reel.
Prepare a full-time editing brief
Describe your entertainment audience, the footage available, the intended video length and the publishing schedule. Share reference videos that show the scripted approach you want. Agree deliverables, revision rounds and turnaround before starting.
Confirm the new york working arrangement
Ask about availability, communication hours and how footage and drafts will be shared and reviewed. Rates are agreed directly with the editor.
