I’m a video editor, channel manager and strategist working in the police bodycam and true crime space. I manage Law Clips Body Cam, handling the whole pipeline: sourcing incidents, obtaining footage, editing, packaging and publishing. I also help channels refine their niche. Law Clips started as general true crime, which is a crowded lane with no clear identity. I narrowed it down to police bodycam specifically, and that repositioning produced the channel’s biggest video to date at 485K views. Most channels I see aren’t struggling with titles or thumbnails. They’re struggling because the audience can’t tell what the channel actually is. On footage: most editors in this niche work from reuploads. I don’t. I file public records and FOIA requests directly with police departments across the US, so I’m cutting from full raw agency files. No watermarks, no compression from three previous reposts, and no copyright exposure for the channel running it. What I do with that footage: restructure multi-hour raw files into a tight case narrative, write hooks that hold viewers past the first 30 seconds, handle blurring and redaction, repair bad body-mic audio, and direct thumbnails. I test formats against retention data and know which ones build a returning audience versus which ones spike and die. 494K views and 9K likes across published work. Open to editing, channel management or strategy work in true crime, police bodycam, documentary or video essay style long-form videos.
