Retained source review
I taught myself how to edit gameplay videos about ten years ago but didn't really start to dabble until 2018. I've been editing my own niche combo videos for almost 6 years now as a hobby, along with mechanical breakdowns and tutorial videos. The nature of my videos means I could spend dozens or hundreds of hours trying to record a single clip, so I don't get as much time to focus on my editing as I'd like. However over the years I've come to find I really enjoy editing and experimenting with new ideas. This is something I have no problem working 12 hours straight on, so I've decided to try my hand at editing as a career. I've also got some experience with sprite animation, with my crowning achievement being the extensive editing of a pre existing 2D sprite sheet to create custom made new animations for a character based on their 3d source material which were not in the crossover game the sprites were taken from. I proceeded to edit this into an 8 second animation, complete with custom made visual effects created by heavily editing and animating pre existing static assets from various sources. This was admittedly a largely trial and error process but it's probably the single biggest creative undertaking I've ever completed, taking over 50 hours in total between creating the dozens of custom sprites and actually animating them
