James Fernald

I am a uniquely talented and driven screenwriter, storytelling coach, teacher, and workshop leader. I spent over 10 years in Los Angeles, where I was a prolific screenwriter with agency representation, as well as working as a creative executive at several production companies, choosing projects and working with professional writers in development. I left L.A. to run the screenwriting department at the European Film College, where I have counseled hundreds of students on storytelling in their short films. I currently run my international workshops "Screenwriting in Paradise," often with special guests like Jan Harlan, Stanley Kubrick's producer. My latest short is being shot next summer, and my latest feature-length screenplay, an epic big budget potential blockbuster, is currently with the Zanuck Company in Hollywood.
