Leo Bovenschulte

Hello! I'm Leandro (Leo) Bovenschulte, a first-generation American, and film student at the University of Rhode Island. I'm incredibly passionate about post-production, specializing in editing, coloring, and sound. I primarily work within the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and am currently learning DaVinci Resolve (color grading), Pro Tools (sound), and Blender (VFX). However, all aspects of filmmaking excite me! I love the opportunities I get to be on set, as well as writing my own scripts or collaborating with others. My unique background has shaped my focus on exploring stories about relationships and personal growth. Some of my favorite films that inspire me include: Little Miss Sunshine, Before Sunset, and Good Will Hunting. My ultimate goal is to become a film editor. I’ve taken significant steps toward this by collaborating on numerous student projects, gaining experience through internships, and creating personal works that I share through my portfolio. I’ve edited commercials, short films, and content for various social media platforms. One of my biggest highlights has been creating a commercial for my university's sports media major, which I shot and edited entirely — an opportunity that led to my work being featured on ESPN+.
