Over the last eight years, I have worked on dozens of channels, collaborated with hundreds of people, and overseen the release of thousands of videos on YouTube. I implemented long-term organic audience development strategies that lead to sustained growth in key performance metrics. I was introduced to YouTube channel management at Obsev Studios, formerly Shandy Media, in 2014. It was there that I met my mentor who began to share knowledge from his time at Defy Media and send me down the path of YouTube Certification to learn analytics, SEO, and other best practices. My next tenure was at Prometheus Global Media’s (now Penske Media Corporation) Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. I continued learning more about channel management by working with a Partner Manager directly at YouTube. It was with these channels that I saw how successful practices for one did not guarantee success on another. I gained further insight into this simple but often rejected truth when I had the pleasure to work directly with YouTube again as part of their Brand as Creators program while at GoDaddy. We wanted to "go beyond ads" with our brand storytelling.
